This single cask pick is a 16yo Single Malt Scotch from our friends at Thompson Bros. (who in the US for legal reasons need to go by "Redacted Bros.").  They are the same brothers behind Dornoch Distillery, which we’ve had the pleasure of visiting and our club has hosted online events with them in the past.

We can't say the name of the distillery, but it's an iconic, longstanding distillery in Pitlochry in the Highlands, and if you do a quick google search of that it will likely be obvious which distillery it is.  The reason there are only 66 bottles is that the liquid was recasked in the smallest of casks — a tiny little ex-sherry Octave.  We tasted it when we selected this cask a year or so ago, and it was extraordinary then -- we can't wait to see what the extra year brought to it (more sherry, anyone?). 

A Note About the Artwork: You may recall that a couple years ago we did a bottling with Thompson Bros. of a 20yo Clynelish, which had great artwork on it, a fun cat as a Statue of Liberty. That raised the stakes for what to do with the artwork this time around. So we reached out to commission an original work from one of our NYC members, Dean Cercone, which turned out wonderfully!
