A blend of Straight Bourbon Whiskeys

We are enormous fans of the High West distillery and their incredible whiskeys, and it has been particularly exciting watching as they continue to grow and incorporate more of their own distillates (distilled in Utah) into their products. Their “American Prairie” bourbon was well known and well loved for years, itself entirely composed (to the best of our knowledge) of whiskey made at the legendary MGP distillery in Indiana, which they rebranded in 2023 as simply “Bourbon”. As we understand it, somewhere along the way in that transition, they started blending in their own whiskeys, much like their “Double Rye” whiskey has long been a blend of whiskey they make in-house and whiskey they source from MGP. We say all that in the interest of transparency, which we know High West values highly, but we want to be very clear — that is not to take away from this product in any way, this bourbon is EXCELLENT, and they have rightly prided themselves on their skills blending what they make and what they source to create an exceptionally fine tasting final product.
