BALCONES: Texas Single Malt, Finished in ex-apple brandy casks

Single barrel, bottled at cask strength of a whopping 64.5% abv.

The barrel (Cask #21189) yielded 126 bottles

Color: Neon maple

Nose: Surprisingly floral, honeydew, chocolate fudge

Palate: Movie theater popcorn drowned in butter, holiday peanut brittle, the apple brandy emerges briefly about 2/3rds of the way through holding it on your tongue, giving way to cashews and chocolate malt balls...

Finish: A brief peppermint comes through just as you’re swallowing, then an interesting lemon note emerges out of nowhere, ending with a simmering, quiet dark chocolate note
