This is easily one of the most exciting distilleries working today in America, located in Fallon, Nevada. They call themselves “Farmer Distillers” for a good reason — ALL of the grain going into their whiskies is grown by them on their centuries-old farm, located just outside of Reno. But it was their extra-curricular efforts that really got our attention — take, for example, experimenting with decomposed corn bricks to smoke the grain as a potential American-alternative to peat. Oh hell yes. Doesn’t hurt that they’re doing everything right on the basics. Oh, and how do they control for the famously dry climate in Reno? They’re the first distillery we’ve ever heard of to HUMIDITY CONTROL their warehouses. Anyway, you get the idea - innovative AF.
