ARTIST SERIES #13 - GLEN GARIOCH DISTILLERY (1988)
AGED 34 YEARS
Created in 2011 by La Maison du Whisky, the ARTIST range is dedicated to single casks bottled at natural strength. This unique collection of exceptional single malts includes offerings aged to perfection. This year’s range is inspired by the world of Iris Scott, an American artist born in 1984. Inspired by the untouched wilderness of the American Southwest, where she lives, as well as by ancient petroglyphs and native ruins, the artistic expression of her work takes shape through an instinctualist style over 40,000 years old. The colorful pieces that adorn this range convey an aura of radiant energy bursting with impressionistic movement.

Glen Garioch is one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries. It was founded in 1797 by Alexander Manson a few kilometres from Aberdeen. Equipped with 3 onion stills, Glen Garioch was the first distillery to heat its stills with gas in 1972. The new make has not been peated since the 1990s, but in recent years small batches of smoked barley have once again been produced. Glen Garioch draws its water from the beautiful burns in the Percock hills, also located in Aberdeenshire. These burns are particularly rich in minerals, which contributes to the depth of the flavor of the Whisky
TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Delicate and finessed. Notes of cacao and Bartlett pear lead into ripe mango, lily flower and tonka bean.
Palate: Floral and vibrant. Orchard fruits dominate the palate balanced by soft mineral tones that develop into notes of lavender and garden mint.
Finale: Fresh and mouthwatering. The cacao firmly reemerges and unfolds into rich papaya and bright herbaceous notes.
